Willie Bee Mitchell “Be Be”, a devoted father, proud grandfather, skilled tradesman, and U.S. Navy veteran, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 79.
Born on December 1, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Willie spent his life rooted in the city and surrounding Chicagoland area he called home. He built his career as a dedicated tradesman in construction, working for many years as an independent contractor. Known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and hands-on skill, Willie took pride in honest work and provided through his craft.
Willie honorably served in the United States Navy, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and love for his country.
He is survived by his beloved son, Corey Mitchell; his cherished granddaughter, Kahlia Savage; and his grandsons, Christian Mitchell and Nicholas Mitchell, who were a great source of pride and joy in his life.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Lillie Mitchell, and his loving wife, Penelope Lewis.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Willie’s life on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at White Funeral Home, as they come together to honor his memory, share stories, and reflect on the legacy he leaves behind.
Willie will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and the quiet love he held for his family. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape and the many lives he touched.
